Dear Mr. Armengol,

Thank you for your kind attention to my request. I am sorry to learn of Mr. Baxter's condition, although hopeful for his recovery and promise of continuing with the narratives of Fred and Iria Noriega. Forgive my confession, Sir, but oft times it is only imaginary worlds like those devised by Mr. Baxter that can keep our spirits cheerful in the midst of the hardships of pirate life.

I agree with your determination to withhold payment from said Mr. Baxter until he shows signs of recovery or proof that he can still, indeed, call himself a writer. I have myself witnessed the devilish effects of that poison on my mates too many a time, and I assure you it is not a pretty sight to see.

I patiently await for your notice.

P.S. I would very much like the recommended works to fall into my hands. On my part, may I also suggest the works of two notable gentlemen that I have had the fortune to encounter in my travels:

- Donne's Inner Islander, by William Humble:
- Ulysses is not for Sissies, by Simon Dedalus

Yours most truly,

Wilhelmina Roberts, a.k.a., Dread Pirate Roberts
